Using Pointless as a case study, I will be looking into the camera setup. The show opens up with a title sequence (also known as a VT) with the theme music. This then proceeds to an opening shot using a crane jib showing the show floor including the audience, this works almost as an establishing shot, which then leads to a shot of the host (Alexander Armstrong) introducing the show with a nice mid shot zooming to a closeup.
This is the blog of George Woodward (gwoodward449) to use for the BTEC Creative Media Production course.

Animation Essay
TV and film is illusion. Any motion picture is basically frame by frame animation. The human eye sees it as movement because each frame is being updated quick enough for your brain to not notice it as individual frames. This is why stop frame animation can be viewed as motion rather than pictures. Going a bit off topic, in the days of shooting movies on actual film, which was very expensive, it worked out that 24fps was the lowest amount of frames that could still contain motion without the choppiness. So transferring that to animation, as long as you go above 20fps, you should still get that moving aspect.

Radio Drama Evaluation
Personal Strengths and Weaknesses
I thought this project was really good, because I could use a lot of my technical skills. The radio drama only required recording in a studio and getting sound effects, there was no set or location, time of the day etc. Script writing and the planning of the story was a bit of a downfall for me. Also, at the moment I’m trying to get more into sound, so this was pretty good to work on.

Targets for FMP
- Make the contact page on my production diary work.
- Obtain some yellow cake uranium.
- Check file size on FMP so far.
The contact page on my production diary now works.
I did not manage to obtain some yellow cake uranium, I shall be bringing this target to my next lot of targets.
I did not check the file size of my FMP, last time I checked, it was about 3GB.

The Archers
Codes and Conventions
Pauses Between Scenes - There are a couple of seconds of silence between scenes to signify the scene change. This is done with a fade out from one scene to a fade in on the next.
Very Different Voices - There is quite a difference between mens voices and females voices in a radio drama. With video, we can easily tell when different people are talking, but with radio drama's it's a little more difficult. The character Pip sound quite young because she doesn't have so much of a strong accent, she speaks with a bit more of a higher pitch than the other characters. Pip's mother has a stronger accent than Pip, and speaks with a slight lower pitch to show her age more.
Background Sound - In one of the opening scenes, Pip is about to head off to the Students Union. You can hear keys being held in Pip's hand and also the start of the car at the end of the scene when Pip is about to head off. There is also a faint sound of cars in the background and I'm sure I can hear a cow moo at one point.
Voices Panned - To separate the dialogue from each character, you can hear certain people more out of one side. An example would be with Pip's Mum, you can hear her more through the left ear, and hear Pip more through the right ear.
Music - Music is used for the theme tune at the beginning and the end of the episocde. Sometimes there will be a bit of music in the background, but that's more meant to represent music being played in the background.

Music Video Contract
This is an agreement for a music video to the song of Annie's Song. This will be created for the Military Wives Choir (Portsmouth Branch). This music video will be used on behalf of myself to use for assessment purposes and also the use of promotional purposes by the Military Wives Choir.
This production will be shot in a studio or theatre and shot with a lot of camera techniques to add depth. This will be shoot and edited before February 15th.
The number will be shot with two cameras multiple times in the media studio at Fareham College. On February 6th.
As this is a college project for a charitable artist, no funds will be passed between either party. Any items used will either already be owned by myself, acquired for a small price, or from yourselves.
Any equipment will be monitored by myself as not to endanger anyone. I will make it my main priority to make sure everyone is comfortable and safe before proceeding with anything that could possibly put anyone in any danger. Lights will be secured with safety chains, wires will be secured down, floors will be cleared and the room will be lit for any moving around.
If there are any problems throughout the shoot, I will make it clear that you should not hesitate to come to me to sort out the issue. I will be using this music video for educational purposes and possibly for a portfolio. The Military Wives Choir can use the video as they please, including profitable uses.
I will try and make sure refreshments are available, but sometimes this may not be possible. The number will be played multiple times throughout the shoot, but I will make sure there are brakes and no artists are over worked.
I hope I can make this a pleasurable shoot and that the Military Wives Choir get a good music video out of it.

The Brief - Music Video
A brief is almost like a contract. It's used as an agreement either verbally or written. The difference between a brief and a contract is that the brief is more straight to the point. The brief helps the other side of an agreement understand what is expected out of them and expected from yourself.
A brief is quite important to help keep keep track of what each party is expected out of them and what they should expect.
If you don't meet up to the standard of the brief, you void the agreement. It also does not look good for the person who hasn't met up to the brief.
To show that I can meet to the brief, I can show what I'm producing and keep in touch with the artists to let them know what timing is booked and what is ready.
