Reason For Research
Considering the time this video was produced, it is very well made with the effects and shots. The video is made up of the band performing and there are multiple effects using shadows, silhouettes and some good lighting. This is another video I would highly consider taking from as I can easily get hold of a theatre studio and it would be nice to play with some cool effects.

Reason For Research
During the video, they have the chorus showing a short movie while at the chorus they have the band performing. Considering the year it was produced, it looks like a fairly high budget video because of the locations used and the smooth crane shots. This is a video I'm seriously considering to take a lot from with the idea of a story type video then the band performing during the chorus.

Purposes of a Music Video: OK Go - This Too Shall Pass
Reason For Research
From what I have seen from OK Go, they use extremely creative music videos. This music video really fits in with the rest of their videos. It looks as if it's a one shot video, but according to YouTuber Freddie Wong, there are some hidden cuts. This may be a bit of a difficult setup for me to do because if the extreme planning and length of time to create. It's still a very creative setup and worth looking into certain elements such as the one take or the Rube Goldberg machine.

I decided I'd look into a lyric music video that uses kinetic typography. I love how the text is dynamically animated onto the screen. I did some research to find that some of the cartoon animations are actually made by a YouTuber who lets people pay royalty fees to use them.
This style of music video will be very time consuming as there is a lot of editing work to do. This may not be an appropriate idea for me as I will have a very tight deadline.

Reason For Research
The introduction to Black or White is very creative. It shows a stereo typical American family with the angry dad and the son listening to loud music. There are a good lot of effects used in the beginning and very good graphical match transitions.

I really like the way that Michael Jackson goes through different countries and blends each one into the next.
From my understanding, the theme behind this music video is an anti racist theme. The video really matches the song by relating the anti-racist lyrics to the multi-cultural shots.
The ending is amazing how they morph into each person who are a difference race, and when they get to the end they show a little cut as if it were behind the scenes with the camera, the backdrop and the director complementing the actress.

The song Park Life is a very british song, and the music has a british vibe to support the song. You see shots like british houses, Ice Cream Vans, Post Boxes and various other items in shot. There are quite a lot of jumpy cuts to support the fast tempo up beat song.

The quality of the music video doesn't seem high budget, which makes it a good choice for research for my production as I won't have a high budget.
